Post subject: Bug? |
|
|
I do not know if it is really a bug, but when I log in it says I have 65(!) accounts and my highest account is Nerdman with a 65K account.
Now I have never had the honour of meeting anyone with near that amount of rating, but I can tell you I only have 2 accounts and neither of them is called Nerdman (I play Garenthol and surprisingly.... Garenthol2).
As I said I do not know if it is a bug or how it recognizes how many accounts I have, maybe through IP? (I'm on a univ. connection, so could be someone played on that IP before) but it IS quite annoying if everybody constantly thinks I am some überleet player and I only started 6 or 7 days ago... (I've even had people refusing to play because I am just feeding on new players according to them....) |

That's a problem that's happened to several people. Firstly, what software do you use? Microsoft, Apple, Linux or other? And what kind of Internet connection do you primarily use or have used? If its a Wi-Fi, it could be that you have linked to another inadvertantely, unless you have your own personal feed. Otherwise, (besides having Linux) I can't think of another explanation |

I am at the moment running on Ubuntu 7.10 32bit, no shared WiFi, fixed WAN with (normally) a static IP with a lease of 90 days.
Like I said I am not sure if it is a bug but it is strange to have everybody think I am Nerdman. |

Yep you have been wrongly tagged to a number of other accounts. Unfortunately we can't do anything about it, its a flaw in the system. Most people will realise that 65 accounts (which it shows when you log in) is excessive so probably won't think much of it. Newer players might confuse, but older ones will mostly understand. |

Ok, completely lost me there.
Never heard of "Ubuntu" and those other numbers... I have no clue. |

I assumed you meant that if I was running Linux the problem could be solved.
PS: Ubuntu 7.10 is the October 2007 release of Ubuntu (the most widely used Linux-distribution). |

AAh, thanks for that. I don't know a thing about Linux except that it has difficulties with GM. |

Post subject: Vague Similarity |

This is the topic I was reffering to ranban:

This seems to be similar to that problem. While I don't know everything (or anything) about Linux, I do know there has been some difficulties with it in the past. Just guessing... |
