Post subject: Galactic Magnate on MAC Reply with quote

I made the switch from PC to MAC around late May and haven't been able to play since due to incompatibility issues. While I did need some time off, I'm starting to have withdrawal. Is there any software that can make PC or Linux software compatible for MAC's?

only thing is.... because they're so much better, macs cost a lot more. so there's a downside (and you cannot play GM on macs unless you run a parallel windows operating system, i believe

Hope you find some answers Josh, would be useful to any other players who have changed or plan to change to a mac also if there was a way to still run GM on them.

I found several windows parallels links for mac free via Google but need to research them more as they could easily be Trojans.

A few reputable dealers:
http://www.parallels.com
www.parallels.com/products/desktop
http://www.amazon.com/Parallels-Desktop-3-0-Mac-VERSION/dp/B000GHIV2Q

it's been a while, but yeah i saw this and thought i'd help...

i wouldn't download any of those parallels just to play gm honestly. they're mostly unstable and most likely (as already mentioned) linked to trojans and the like.

what i mainly meant was installing windows xp or 7 (not vista- too big). when you boot up, you'll get the choice to run windows or mac o.s., and choose windows. i recommend xp the most because it's a lot more lightweight and won't eat up your ram

Great advice polly! How would you recommend installingl xp on a mac? Sould I buy xp software from a retailer and install it manually or download online from a trusted source?

MAC's have more versatility than PC's but they take some getting used to. Overall, I'd say it was a good switch, ju. Thanks for your advice also, prab.
